Projects throughout the year

Blessing Bags

The Church is collecting the following items to create bags that can be given to the homeless or anyone in need. The items are collected in gallon zip-lock bags along with a church card offering encouragement. Items being collected for the bags are: adult and children gloves, beanies, and socks, beef sticks, kids juice boxes, snack bags of chips and cookies, band-aids, purse tissue packs, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, deodorant, wipes, and lotion.

Pure Water, Pure Love

An ongoing water filter project in which we raise money to buy water filters for missionaries serving in third world countries. Each filter costs $250.00. Since beginning this ministry, we have raised money for 15 filters and are raising money for the 16th.

baby bottle fund raiser

This benefits the Pregnancy Resource Center here in Douglasville. The money raised is used to provide sonograms for mothers who are considering abortions. Originally a ministry idea of Focus on the Family, many lives have been saved through the PRC efforts!

annie armstrong easter offering

An annual event sponsored by the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program.  All of the money raised goes directly to missionaries serving in North America.  No administrative expenses are subtracted from this offering; 100% goes to those on the field of missions.

LOTTIE MOON CHRISTMAS OFFERING

An annual event sponsored by the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program.  All of the money raised goes directly to missionaries serving overseas in foreign countries, many of which are antagonistic of Christianity and persecute the Christian faith. No administrative expenses are        subtracted from this offering; 100% goes to those on the field of missions.

backyard kids’ club

Our church has chosen to use “VBS-to-go” format where we take our summer Vacation Bible School ministry into a particular neighborhood in order to have a more direct contact with families and children.  This year we will be bringing it back to the church building. Ages are for Pre-K up to Fifth Grade along with starting an Adult Class for ages 18 and up. Starting Sunday evening through Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

children’s home truck-loading

We collect items which are gathered by the churches in our local association and then they are taken to the children’s home located in Palmetto, Georgia.

First Responder Goodie Trays

Every year in early December we assemble trays of home cooked goodies which we then distribute to our first responders: police, sheriff, fire, 911 Center, etc. We also put together special trays for the teachers and staff at Mt. Carmel Elementary School.

Mt. Carmel Elementary School

Throughout the year we do everything we can (and as the Lord blesses) to help supply copy paper, office supplies and any other school supplies that the teachers often buy out of their own resources.  We also attempt to meet the requests of individual teachers and provide personalized gifts for the teachers throughout the year.
